Personalised online Therapy
Only a few years ago online therapy was almost unheard of. Counselling always meant a waiting room, an office, a couch. But COVID changed all that. Just like millions of people around the world therapists had to learn to work in a new way - and learn fast! Whilst in-person therapy is still the first choice for many people, online counselling offers another way of accessing the support you need, when and where you need it.
Often we are juggling a lot - career, kids, relationships, life. Finding time for you can feel impossible. Online therapy offers you time, space and empathy, but without the commute, waiting rooms and time pressure. And it doesn’t have to be an ‘either’ ‘or’ choice - hybrid is always an option. Many people choose a mixture of in-person and online therapy offering maximum flexibility and getting the best of both!
Some benefits of choosing on-line:
Convenience and Accessibility: The ease of accessing therapy from anywhere at any time.
Comfort and Privacy: Receiving counselling in the comfort, privacy and safety of your own home.
Flexibility: Flexible scheduling options that accommodates your busy life.
Continuity of Care: Maintaining consistent therapy sessions even during travel or relocation.
Expanded Access: Reaching you in remote areas where you might not have access to in-person therapy.

Online Counselling FAQs
Who can benefit from online counselling?
Anyone can benefit. Whether you are struggling with anxiety & depression, going through grief, overwhelmed with stress or have experienced trauma, this might well be for you. (Take a look at the list of presenting issues on our ‘individual counselling page) It can be especially useful if you feel more comfortable in your own home, have difficulties travelling or have a tricky schedule to navigate.
How does online counselling work?
Exactly the same as all counselling - it offers a space to talk, explore and grow. The main difference is it uses an online platform - usually Zoom - rather than being in the same room. You will be sent an invite and all the necessary log-in details beforehand.
Is online counselling as effective as in-person?
It certainly can be - in fact some people prefer it and feel safer and more relaxed talking from the comfort of their own home. For others being in the same room feels important and more connecting - its really is a case of personal preference and what works best for you. There are a few creative techniques and interventions such as play work, that don’t translate so well online, but in the main online sessions can be equally impactful and effective
What technological requirements do I need for online counselling?
To work remotely, all you will need is any device with a camera and microphone, reliable wifi, and a private space for your session.
How long does counselling take?
There is no set length of time, therapy is catered to your individual needs. Some people just need a handful of focused sessions, others continue in therapy for months or even years.
How do you keep virtual counselling confidential and secure?
I always ensure that I am working from a private location, usually the therapy room I use for in-person sessions. You will always be given your own secure log-in instructions sent to an email address of your choosing. It is also important that you have a private space in which to talk freely without the fear of being overheard or interrupted.
How do I schedule my first session?
Simply fill in the contact form on our contacts page or press the many ‘get in touch’ and ‘contact’ buttons on the website. I always try to get back to you within 24 hours, as I understand that waiting for a response can be difficult.
