About me

15 years ago, I attended a short weekend workshop introducing the main ideas of psychotherapy. I hoped to use it in my work as a foster carer and mentor, instead I was so inspired that it sparked a huge career change and I embarked on a 4 year, Level 7 course in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy - and I have have never looked back!

As a therapist I believe in the healing power of genuine connection, compassionate listening and small, courageous steps towards change. I do not see myself as a fixer or someone with a magic wand, but as a fellow traveller with you on your journey, navigating all the twists and turns, rocky areas and pitfalls with you.

When not in the therapy room you can find me drinking lovely coffee in a cosy café with a good book or trying (and usually failing) to keep up with a very energetic four-year-old.

How I work

First and foremost, I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where your thoughts and feelings are all welcome, valued and explored freely. I hope to meet you with empathy, compassion and genuine curiosity, as well as a generous pinch of humour - therapy isn’t always about serious faces and silent nods! I work collaboratively, letting you set the pace and lead the way, whilst offering methods and techniques to hep you on that journey - a journey I will be walking with you, every step of the way.

I believe that talking is an incredibly powerful tool for healing, but healing is not just a process of the mind, it is also of the body. My approach often blends traditional talk therapy with somatic and creative techniques and practices, recognising that our bodies often hold the stories that we can’t put into words.

A little about me

Our lovely converted barn is light and bright and has beautiful original features, showcasing its rural history. What was once a dilapidated cowshed is now a warm, safe space to talk, explore and grow.

Complementary hot and cold drinks are always on offer and there is plenty of parking on the lane outside - just keep an eye out for the sheep and their ‘manure’!

They might even pay us a little visit!

Welcome to the Barn
